As the artist, she is extremely influenced by what surrounds her, Jaime wanted to be immersed in a subject matter that is ecologically and psychologically important, and to share the story of the journey through imagery.
Throughout the trip she painted beautiful mountain scenery. This resulted in many ‘plein air’ acrylic paintings inspired directly by the natural setting. By using a bicycle by means of transportation, she alleviated barriers between herself and nature. Biking and camping increased her proximity to the landscape and therefore the subject matter. She exhibited her work in the Art Lab of Fort Collins in August of 2013.
As part of the art project, she created a Kickstarter page to fund the journey. If you would like to check out the Kickstarter project page please click on the link above.
