Streets of Italy

Jaime Gastelle displayed her "Streets of Italy" project in her first European solo show named "RAW." She presented a collection of 12 paintings which documented her leap into the unknown, old romantic world, distant and different from the land in which she grew.

The journey across the ocean, and through Europe, was a performance in itself, documented in the paintings exhibited, and a feat of courage. Jaime stepped out of comfort of the studio in Loveland, Colorado to create opportunities and means for the journey through another continent, using only her art as currency.

Whilst passing through, Jaime painted unusual moments or atmospheres set in specific metropolitan settings, collecting the local architecture and people in acrylic on canvas.
